Qualifications/Requirements:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience building data platforms and data pipelines as a Data Engineer.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience building data engineering solutions on Snowflake or equivalent.
• Expert level skills using at least one programming language Python & SQL
• Expert level skills working with large, distributed datasets.
• Expert level skills around data modeling, data warehousing and data infrastructures.
• Expert level skills building resilient ETL pipelines capable of working with a diverse set of raw sources.
• 2+ years as a technical lead/mentor/coach

Preferred

• Strong understanding of data sciences practices and needs in relation to raw and refined datasets.
• Strong understanding of back-end engineering and reverse ETLs.
• Strong understanding of front-end engineering and techniques for end user data collection.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Help design and build Sunstate's next generation data platform as an evolutionary mission.
• Help design and build Sunstate's data pipelines to ensure reliable, timely and consistent data flows that contribute to data literacy that are simple to understand, maintain and build upon.
• Lead migration and reshaping of legacy data structures into dynamic cloud-based forms.
• Partner with Engineering, Product Management, Data Science, BI and Operations to learn quickly and adapt to market conditions and customer opportunities.
• Think of data as a product and care for your products. Complete ownership.
• Help make build vs buy decisions where appropriate throughout data platform architecture.
• Elevate the overall technical acumen of the data engineering team through mentoring, coaching and technical leadership.
