Technical Services Engineer, Johnson Matthey, Inc., Oakbrook Terrace, IL. Provide excellent technical services both, proactively and in response to, “emergencies” aimed at delivering long-term value for the company and customer. Develop and deploy the appropriate level of technical services to the segmented customer base. Build and maintain effective partnerships with customer stakeholders in an ethical and safe manner. Provide advice to customers in reviews of project and investment plans for the improvement of their production assets. Gather customers’ feedback in order to enable the business to enhance product offering. Coordinate with Regional Sales Managers to ensure consistent global customer service. Develop opportunities for the introduction of new products to customers. Ensure all activities are in accordance with company’s code of ethics and Environmental Health and Safety policy and practices. Perform other duties as required. 40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30am – 5:30 pm.
Must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Science, or a related discipline, plus 3 years of related work experience; OR a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Science, or a related discipline, plus 1 year of related work experience.
Must have at least one year of experience with each of the following:
Understanding catalyst technologies applied in the refineries business to provide technical guidance to customers;
Troubleshooting catalyst-specific product applications using strong understanding of chemical fundamentals;
Building and strengthening customer relationships through communication, presentation, negotiation, and problem resolution; and,
Understanding of technical product features of the Catalyst Technology product portfolio.
Travel required up to 40%.
