The position to be filled is General Manager. The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all operations of Power, Water, & Wastewater. He or she will provide leadership and direction to the Utility by establishing and working toward an annual Operating Plan and implementing policies and procedures in alignment with the Utility’s Mission Statement.

Coordinate the work of all Utility departments & Superintendents
Reviews policy and procedures and recommends updates to the Utility Board of Directors as needed
Responsible for operations of the Utility System, including long range planning, financial, and operational goals and budgets
Attend meetings with associated organizations, City Council, County Commission, Planning & Zoning, and others as needed
Evaluate and provide guidance on capital projects
Stay current on relevant legislation affecting the Utility
Annual review with direct reports; ensure all direct reports follow policies & procedures

Requirements, Education, Special Training:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or other related field or equivalent work experience
Ability to work effectively with the public, citizen groups, other public and private officials, and employees; including public speaking
Thorough knowledge of regulations, policies, and procedures for power, water, & wastewater
Knowledge of Utility functions and ability to address problematic processes, policies, and personnel
Valid Driver’s License
Minimum 10 years of experience in supervisory role
Extended periods of sitting/standing, occasional lifting
Travel: Occasionally, <10%
Annual Operating Budget: $26 million
Business hours: Monday - Friday, 7AM to 4PM
