City Engineer

The City Engineer is a management position responsible for administering a program ensuring that public and private capital construction projects are well designed and installed consistent with the City’s Development Standards and Development Regulations. The position would responsible for ensuring that development application procedures, engineering analysis, and permit processing are completed in a professional and efficient manner. Responsible for the fair
and consistent application of development standards and other regulations in complex situations. Directs and evaluates Development Project Manager and Engineering Technician in their roles. Assists in the development of the budget relating to large capital improvement projects. Assists the public by responding to technical questions, explaining policies and procedures, and interpreting the Development Standards. This position coordinates all project reviews including technical staff pre-construction meetings with City's Planning Department.
This position is responsible for oversight and execution of City grant applications. Monitors City planning documents and identifies funding sources, authors and presents grants to various agencies.
