Watch our video on why you’ll feel at home in Dubuque: Big Life, Small City - https:/youtu.be/eF4V6E-kxDI Primary Responsibilities: As a Traffic Engineer, you will be involved in the study, design, and construction administration of a wide variety of transportation projects including roadway, intersection and roundabout, traffic signals, Intelligent Transportation System, bicycle, and pedestrian. Additional work assignments will include traffic signal timing and operational studies, Traffic Impact Analysis studies and private development plan review, roadway illumination and pavement marking design, traffic safety studies, traffic modeling, coordination of on-street parking, Temporary Traffic Control plan review and design, and other traffic engineering work. Full Time/Part Time: Full Time/Overtime Exempt Pay Range: $62,856 - $82,118. Salary will be commensurate with experience and capabilities. Travel assistance to interview candidates may be offered by the City to those who live outside the area in the form of airfare, hotel, and transportation to and from for the interview.

Work Schedule: Normal city business hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The successful candidate will primarily work a day shift, instituting a flex schedule as consistent with salaried positions in a professional work environment. Position requires response to critical situations outside of normal working hours on occasion.
Primary Work Location and Work Environment: City hall is the home office location. Position duties include working indoors and outdoors in all types of weather conditions; and frequent travel to assigned project locations to investigate field conditions or trouble shoot technical problems.
Travel: Primarily in-town, except for same day out of town meetings and voluntary paid training.
