Nature of Work: The MDTA is seeking a licensed engineering professional to serve as the Stormwater Engineer in the Office of Engineering and Construction. This position will provide technical support in planning, design, construction, inspection, maintenance, and remediation related to MDTA stormwater assets. The incumbent assists in managing activities related to stormwater management, erosion & sediment control, stormwater permitting, stormwater mitigation / restoration, and reviewing remedial procedures, design calculations, cost estimates, plans and special provisions. Additionally, the Stormwater Engineer is responsible for supporting MDTA’s Stormwater Remedial Program that involves managing inspections and remedial projects related to drainage systems, stormwater management / water quality devices, erosion and sediment controls. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Possession of a Maryland Professional Engineer license, in the appropriate option, is required. Evidence of license must be presented at the time of appointment. An applicant's current license as a Professional Engineer in a state with comparable requirements acceptable to the Maryland State Board for Professional Engineers, in the appropriate option for which application is made, will be accepted but the applicant must obtain a Maryland license within twelve (12) months of appointment. Evidence of out of state registration must be presented at time of appointment. Applicants must list the license number, issued by, issue date, and expiration date on the application.
