The primary duty of the Engineering/CAD Technician is to support a project team in producing detailed plan sets for railroad bridge and track design projects using AutoCAD LT and AutoCAD Civil 3D. This requires drafting in all phases of construction documents for various design projects.
We're looking for a team player who is willing to grow with us. The CAD Technician may also be asked to prepare construction documents and specifications. Future opportunities exist, if desired, in assisting engineers in the field with measuring existing structures, construction observation, and bridge inspecting.
Technical skills in detailing of steel, reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete and timber bridge components
Ability to interpret existing bridge plans
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Self-motivated and willing to take responsibility
Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality
Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently
Interest in learning and growth
Experience creating roadway/railway alignments, profiles, and cross sections a plus

Associates Degree in Engineering Design, CAD Technology, or similar
2+ years' experience in CAD with Civil/Structural emphasis
