The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (MIE) of the Newark College of Engineering at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) invites applications for tenure-track Assistant/Associate/Full Professors in Industrial Engineering and related areas. By the time of appointment, successful candidates must have earned a Ph.D. (or equivalent) degree, with a record of pertinent high-quality research. Specific areas of interest are listed below, but candidates in all related areas are also welcome.:
Artificial Intelligence / Operations Research / Data Analytics: Application of data-driven decision-making, mathematical modelling and optimization methods in a wide range of industrial settings. Research on supply chains, healthcare systems, autonomous vehicles and transportations systems are of special interest.
Advanced Manufacturing / Robotics / Smart Logistics: Advanced manufacturing (e.g. 3D manufacturing, cyber-physical systems, automation) or logistics (e.g. warehousing, smart logistics, humanitarian logistics), combined with strong quantitative applications.
The successful candidate is expected to carry out high quality scholarly research and collaborate with other faculty. He or she should have a clear plan to establish a vibrant research program, secure external research funding, and participate actively in guiding, educating and teaching graduate and undergraduate students.
