A postdoctoral associate position in genomics and statistical genetics is immediately available in the Wallace Lab at the University of Georgia. This position will involve collaborative research on (1) conserved noncoding elements across a range of plants, and (2) statistical genetic analysis of maize root traits related to plant-microbe interaction.

Requirements:

• PhD with research experience in genetics, bioinformatics, statistics, or related field
• Experience in working with genomic and/or quantitative genetics datasets (ideally both)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong record of independence and project leadership skills
• Strong publication record

Preferred qualifications:

• At least 3 years’ experience with genetic mapping, genome-wide association, and similar statistical genetics analyses
• Extensive experience in multi-genome comparisons of complex plant genomes and/or noncoding elements
• Interest/experience in plant-microbe interactions
