East Bay Municipal Utility District’s (EBMUD's) Wastewater Process Engineering and Asset Management group is currently seeking an Associate Civil Engineer who is motivated, energetic, innovative, a team player, a strong project manager, with excellent writing and verbal skills, who enjoys working closely with Operations, Maintenance and other staff in developing creative solutions for maximizing the cost-effective utilization of equipment at EBMUD Wastewater facilities. In this role, the successful candidate will manage a variety of asset management initiatives, such as conducting reliability centered maintenance evaluations of wastewater treatment processes, developing and implementing a robust condition assessment and performance monitoring program for wastewater assets, and facilitating enhancements to the computerized maintenance management system.
The most competitive candidates will possess significant knowledge of wastewater systems, including wastewater treatment and conveyance facilities; wastewater treatment plant operations and maintenance; asset management and maintenance engineering, data analysis and programming; project management principles and practices; and computerized maintenance management systems. Experience will include success in facilitating diverse groups in analyzing system performance and developing alternative approaches to system operation and maintenance to optimize performance; implementing reliability centered maintenance approaches to system analyses; and administering computerized maintenance management systems.
The salary range is $12,842 per month increasing to $13,484, $14,158, $14,866, and $15,609 after 6, 18, 30, and 42 months, respectively.

1. A bachelor’s degree in an ABET-accredited civil engineering curriculum OR a California EIT Certificate.
2. Two years of civil engineering experience at a level comparable to or higher than EBMUD’s Assistant Engineer class (four years professional level experience subsequent to obtaining the degree).
3. California registration as a Professional Civil Engineer.
