The Regional Engineer role provides design support, project management, technical analysis, and technical support for the region.
What You Will Do- Provide design support such as high pressure approval, excess pressure requests, emergency generator requests, and station design.
- Project management for station projects, including replacement stations and modifications, Customer Connections stations, and SMC department initiatives.
- Provide technical support for complex projects (build, layout, material selection, cost estimates, capital requisitioning, material ordering, scheduling, etc.).
- Responsible to work with internal/external collaborators (Engineering, municipalities, developers, etc) to complete load analysis on pipelines and to implement crossing agreements.
- Support Regional Operations frontline field staff, including assistance with customer station configurations and deviation approval coordination with Stations Engineering.
- Complete and/or coordinate for Project Execution Permits (PEP)
- Assist with asset management plan and capital budget submissions (design, costing, justification).
- Collaborate with Distribution Optimization Engineering, Pipeline Engineering and Stations Engineering teams.
- Other tasks as the need arises.
Who You AreYou will have the following:
- University Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical or Civil, preferred) and 4+ years of engineering experience.
- Must have P.Eng designation registered with the PEO.
- Ability to think analytically and perform detailed analysis.
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects at one time and meet defined timelines.
- Digital literacy and familiarity with PC applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and team skills, with the ability to influence without authority.
Preferred:- Mechanical, Chemical or Civil engineering field preferred.
- Knowledge of Maximo, Copperleaf and Ecosys preferred.
Working Conditions - Office-based with occasional travel to field sites.
- A valid "G" class Ontario driver's license and maintenance of a responsible driving record is required.
- Upon training and qualification, emergency standby on-call coverage (after hours and evenings) may be required.
