Construction Methods Manager
Summary
The Construction Methods Manager oversees a team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) specializing in Distribution, Transmission, and Substation Construction and Maintenance. This role provides leadership, direction, and support to ensure safe, efficient, and effective construction practices while driving continuous improvement in work methods and operating procedures.
Responsibilities
Provide strategic direction and oversight for the development, implementation, and improvement of construction work methods and standard operating procedures.
Develop and implement strategies to enhance team performance and achieve business outcomes, leveraging craft experience in utility operations.
Promote effective communication and collaboration across teams and departments through meetings and information-sharing sessions.
Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of projects to ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, budgets, and timelines.
Monitor project progress, provide guidance to team members, and apply expertise in utility operations and project management.
Lead the team in identifying and resolving operational issues while supporting organizational objectives.
Build and sustain strong relationships with stakeholders, vendors, clients, and internal teams to enhance safety, compliance, and process improvements.
Represent the team in meetings and advocate for utility-specific needs and requirements.
Ensure all activities comply with regulatory requirements, promote a culture of safety, and adhere to best practices.
Maintain the highest standards of conduct and integrity when managing sensitive, financial, and cybersecurity-related information.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Five or more years of experience in utility craft work or leading electric utility craft workers (transmission, distribution, substation construction, maintenance, or operations).
Valid Class C Drivers License.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated experience applying safety leadership practices with high-hazard trades.
Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills to build consensus across teams and partner organizations.
Experience developing strategies, implementing solutions, and measuring success.
Experience collaborating with and making recommendations to senior leadership and executives.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, effective in both one-on-one and large group settings.
Strong work ethic with the ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
