We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented DevOps Streaming Engineer to join our team. This role is critical to delivering high-quality, scalable, and reliable live and on-demand video experiences to millions of users across our digital platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with AWS Media Service products and a deep understanding of streaming protocols, monitoring tools, and CDN optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and support live and on-demand video workflows using AWS services, including MediaLive, MediaTailor, and MediaConvert.
- Manage and optimize video delivery via Amazon CloudFront and other CDN platforms.
- Monitor video stream performance and availability, troubleshoot issues in real-time, and ensure adherence to SLAs.
- Maintain and optimize HLS packaging workflows for adaptive bitrate streaming.
- Collaborate with DevOps, backend, and product teams to integrate video delivery into multi-platform applications.
- Build and maintain infrastructure and automation tools to improve deployment, monitoring, and reliability.
- Ensure video pipeline scalability, redundancy, and compliance with evolving technical standards.
- Contribute to documentation, operational runbooks, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in video streaming engineering or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Media Services, including MediaLive, MediaTailor, and MediaConvert.
- Proficiency with video streaming protocols and formats, particularly HLS. Experience with MPEG-DASH or CMAF considered a plus.
- Understanding of CDN technologies, preferably with CloudFront.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools for video workflows (e.g., New Relic, CloudWatch, custom dashboards).
- Familiarity with video codecs, DRM, ad insertion workflows, and video quality metrics.
- Experience working with scripting or automation tools (Bash, Terraform, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
