Easton Utilities is currently seeking to fill the position of Electrical Engineer I or Electrical Engineer II. The ideal candidate will have the aptitude and experience to gain expertise in operations of our power plants and electric systems and exemplify a strong work ethic that portrays Easton Utilities core values of Integrity, Commitment, Excellence.
Electrical Engineer I
HIRING RANGE: Annual Salary of $92,742 or higher depending upon experience and credentials
JOB OBJECTIVE: Design, coordinate and test new electrical utility installations. Support existing generation, transmission and distribution infrastructure and provide future electrical assessments. Write specifications for electrical purchases and assist in the repair of electrical facilities when needed.
Electrical Engineer II
HIRING RANGE: Annual Salary of $111,291 or higher depending upon experience and credentials
JOB OBJECTIVE: Design, coordinate and test new electrical utility installations. Support existing generation, transmission and distribution infrastructure and provide future electrical assessments. Write specifications for electrical purchases and assist in the repair of electrical facilities when needed.
Requirements
Electrical Engineer I
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum one (1) year experience in power plant, transmission and distribution electric system design and operation.
Successfully completed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam.
Good communications skills to effectively work with department employees as well as internal and external customers.
Must be able to assist when needed with restoration efforts in extreme weather conditions.
Familiarity with equipment rated to 69KV, including outdoor substations and medium voltage switchgear.
Knowledge of power generators operating on liquid and gaseous fuel including reciprocating and combustion turbine prime movers.
Knowledge of Protective relay’s, PLC and SCADA control systems required.
Proficient in NESC and NFPA codes and standards.
A valid driver’s license.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
PE license preferred or have the ability to obtain a Maryland PE license within a designated time frame.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have the physical capabilities to be actively involved in construction projects.
Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions.
Must wear proper PPE as required.
Electrical Engineer II
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum four (4) year experience in power plant, transmission and distribution electric system design and operation.
Maryland Professional Engineer License required.
Good communications skills to effectively work with department employees as well as internal and external customers.
