Description
Position Summary:
Tetra Tech is seeking candidates for the position of Energy Engineer to support our energy conservation and sustainability business practices. Qualified candidates will have a mix of technical, interpersonal, and communication skills. This position requires independent problem solving while working as part of larger project teams. The successful candidate will conduct impact evaluations of energy efficiency projects and use data management and analysis skills to apply the results.
Your Role:
- Perform energy consumption calculations for residential, commercial, public, and industrial systems
- Plan and support measurement and verification or field investigation activities
- Review energy efficiency and renewable energy calculations and assumptions
- Report results and recommendations
- Analyze data using engineering and statistical software programs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering; new grads encouraged to apply
- Familiarity with one or more of the following is a plus:
- Energy efficiency codes or equipment efficiency standards
- Construction or design of energy efficient equipment
- Knowledge of construction, facility equipment, or other energy efficient equipment operation
- Building auditing or specific energy modeling experience
- Energy consumption regression modeling
- Advanced Excel spreadsheet skills
- Written Technical report writing
- Programming knowledge (Python or R)
Starting Annual Salary:
The annual salary for this position is $70,000-$90,000 depending on level of education, qualifications and experience

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Hybrid office environment (3 days in-office/2 days remote)
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer monitor, computer mouse, calculator, and computer printer
- Able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
