JOB SUMMARY
Senior Engineer (Systems) to support one of our customers at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD on PMA-242. PMA-242 is responsible for the acquisition, development, and sustainment of direct and time sensitive strike weapons. The immediate need is within the Direct Strike Team, where support is required on the new Program of Record for the Precision Attack Strike Munition (PASM). This effort is being executed through a non-traditional rapid acquisition approach to expedite fielding and operational deployment. This position will also provide support for the Joint Air-to-Ground Missile (JAGM) program and engineering support for the legacy Hellfire missile system
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs tasks with little or no guidance or leads the execution of complex tasks.
- Has demonstrated knowledge in area of engineering expertise.
- Engineering support for the new Program of Record for the Precision Attack Strike Munition (PASM).
- Engineering support for the Joint Air-to-Ground Missile (JAGM) program.
- Sustainment engineering support for the legacy Hellfire missile systems.
- Applies engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan and design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate military weapons systems.
- Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation.
- Applies systems engineering methods and tools in the development of advanced complex systems and performs functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management.
- Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, tests, or evaluates software, components, or systems related to engineering or functional requirements of military weapons systems, associated support systems.
- Performs programmatic or technical leadership roles in an organization identifying, formulating, designing, and/or testing practical solutions to engineering problems.
- Guides the engineering development of modern complex systems.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Must have a have a master's degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university or a bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university and an additional four (4) years of recent and relevant experience.
- Must have minimum of ten (10) years of recent and relevant experience in an engineering position, three (3) years of which must be directly related to DoD systems.
- Demonstrated experience in an area of engineering expertise is required.
SECURITY CLEARANCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher
- Must be a US Citizen
- Driving or renting a car for company business is expected with some frequency. For insurance purposes, a valid driver's license is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
TRAVEL REQUIRED
- Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position for meetings, trainings, and/or site visits.
