Hardware Engineer, Test Development w/Zoox Inc. (Foster City, CA)
Develop, document, and execute component and system-level hardware testing. Collaborate with suppliers, design, and system engineers to characterize the functional performance of Zoox sense and computer hardware. Responsible for the development testing on early prototypes and qualification testing on modules intended for vehicle use. Projects range from interface compliance testing to developing purpose-built tools. Use oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and other electrical/environmental test equipment. Develop test setups via block diagrams, BoMs (Bill of Materials) and test plans. Develop custom test assets such as load simulators, test harnessing and python scripts Facilitate test infrastructure projects by working with procurement and suppliers. Draft and present test plans, design reviews, test readiness reviews and data reviews. Review and consult on documentation release for standards, design, and risk assessments. Utilize Python, C++, MATLAB, and Linux. 10% travel to international suppliers.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical or Robotics Engineering or a closely related field and 3 years of experience in a Hardware Engineer, Electronics Design Engineer or related engineering role testing electronic, automotive, aerospace, or vehicle components OR a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical or Robotics Engineering or a closely related field and 1 year of experience in a Hardware Engineer, Electronics Design Engineer or related engineering role testing electronic, automotive, aerospace, or vehicle components. Experience must include the following: working with design tools: PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly); 3D Modeling and 3DExperience; using lab equipment (Environmental Chambers, Oscilloscopes, E-loads, VNA, TDR, or spectrum analyzer); developing electronic components; draft test plans, design reviews, and test readiness reviews and utilizing Python, C++, MATLAB, and Linux. Telework permitted within commuting distance to worksite. $134,000-$154,000/year
