Description
The Information Systems Engineer is a technical expert responsible for designing, deploying, securing, and supporting the Department’s core IT infrastructure across compute, storage, networking, voice, and cloud platforms. The position plays a critical role in maintaining hybrid identity systems, managing disaster recovery operations, and ensuring high availability across a multi-site Microsoft Windows environment. This position
aligns with the Department’s mission to support emergency response and risk reduction through resilient and innovative information systems.

Requirements
Required Occupational Qualifications:
To be eligible to apply for this position the applicant must meet the following required occupational
qualifications prior to the closure of applications and maintain them:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
- At least 18 years of age at the time of application.
- Proof of eligibility for employment in the United States.
- Possess a valid state driver’s license.
- Must be a non-user of tobacco products, including e-cigarettes or vaping products.
- Six (6) years of IT experience, including three (3) years in a progressively responsible
infrastructure or systems engineering role. - Maintain a professional appearance consistent with acceptable office attire.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English, both orally and in writing.
- Comp TIA Security+ certification is required within 12 months of hire.
Physical Requirements: - Due to the operational requirements of the role, this position must be performed in person at
our facility on a daily basis. Remote work is not permitted - Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Must be able to lift and move IT equipment, including PCs, servers, monitors, and
peripherals. - Specific vision ability includes close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and focus
adjustment.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary - $10,00.00 monthly
Vacation - Accrual of 12 hrs per month
Sick leave - Accrual of 10 hrs per month
Holidays - 116 hrs per year, pro-rated to date of hire.
Medical Insurance-Premium for employee only paid 100% by Department/Employees portion
for Employee + one dependent is $42.97 monthly/Employee + two or more dependents is
$85.96 monthly.
Dental insurance- Department pays up to $130 monthly towards premium.
Retirement – Participant of Washington State Department of Retirement Systems
Deferred Compensation- Department match up to a max of 5.0% of TFF base wage.
Probation - One year
Additional Benefits: Supervisor approved designated weekly work-out time, and a business cell
phone or reimbursement for personal phone services.
