Job DescriptionBAE is looking for a Lead Cloud Engineer / Architect with AWS and Azure.
Located in Crystal City.
This is a HYBRID position, and you can work from home 50% of the time.
This job requires a Public Trust Clearance, with the ability to achieve a Top Secret
Must be strong with both AWS and Azure, and have at least one of the following Certifications
• Current AWS certification such as AWS Solutions Architect - Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer-Professional, AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty.

The Lead Cloud Engineer responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and management of the cloud infrastructure, defining cloud architecture standards, ensuring security and compliance, optimizing cloud costs, and driving innovation within the cloud environment working closely with other technical teams to integrate cloud solutions across the enterprise infrastructure of our government partner.
Key responsibilities include architecting scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure using best practices, considering factors like cost optimization, performance and security. Monitor cloud usage, identify cost savings opportunities and implement strategies to optimize cloud spend. Implement robust security measures, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and compliance standards.
Experience
The candidate will demonstrate direct experience in the past two years with the following:
Demonstrate Expertise with leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools to automate cloud infrastructure and management.
Demonstrate Expertise developing relevant metrics and monitoring of cloud environment to pro-actively identify performance issues, bottlenecks, and facilitates troubleshoots complex cloud-related problems.
Demonstrate Expertise planning, installing, operating and maintaining AWS and Azure environments.
Demonstrate Expertise and strong understanding of cloud computing principles including network, storage, compute and security.
Demonstrate Expertise with IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
Demonstrate Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Required
• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, Management, or a related field.
• Possess a minimum of six (6) years of recent experience providing cloud engineering support and compliance with industry best practices including cloud native approaches using technologies like Containers, Kubernetes, and Microservices.
• Current AWS certification such as AWS Solutions Architect - Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer-Professional, AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty.
• Exceptional leadership skills to manage and mentor a team of cloud engineers and strong communications and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross functional teams within the last two (2) years
Desired
- Experience with Agile concepts and methodology
- Ability to generate artifacts to support organizational documentation
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Ability to generate and tailor briefing products to appropriate audience for planning, fiscal and operational decision support
- Project management certificate and experience
- Experience with ITIL
- Cyber Security Certification (SEC + or similar)
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
• Current AWS certification such as AWS Solutions Architect - Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer-Professional, AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $146670 - $249330
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
