POSITION SUMMARY
Milwaukee Rep is seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Facilities Engineer. In this role, you’ll work alongside the Chief Engineer and other team members to ensure seamless operation of building systems in a dynamic regional theater—on that blends historic architecture with new construction.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with an exceptional benefits package, including continuing education opportunities. Candidates must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
Major Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of all building systems, including HVAC, BAS (Metasys), mechanical, plumbing, lighting, fire alarms, security and elevators.
- Assist with the operation and upkeep of low-pressure systems, chillers, and HVAC systems.
Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations and company policies. - Troubleshoot system issues and perform emergency and preventive maintenance as needed.
Complete minor construction, fabrication and painting work, as assigned by Chief Engineer. - Conduct facility walk-throughs, identifying and resolving maintenance needs.
- Load, unload, and relocate furniture, equipment, fixtures and materials.
- Maintain the grounds, including snow removal.
- Responds promptly to emergency situations and coordinate support when required.
- Support task delegation and coordination with the engineering team.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); additional technical training a plus.
- Proven experience in facilities or building maintenance, especially in large, multi-use or historic buildings.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to conduct inspections and system testing.
- Experience with Johnson Controls Metasys preferred.
- Excellent time management, the ability to handle multiple priorities at once, and work with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to collaborate with individuals across diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to pass a background check in accordance with local and/or federal laws.
Physical Requirements:
- Consistently works in high-temperature environments and frequently exposed to loud sounds in close proximity
- Frequently moves up to 50 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to work comfortably on elevated surfaces (roof) and climb a ladder up to 30 feet is required for this position
- Must be able to maintain a standing position more than 80% of shift and occasionally work in a prone or kneeling position
- Able to regularly ascend/descend stairs
