Overview
The Manufacturing Engineer will plan and design manufacturing processes to improve production efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Focus on being a key contributor to one or more facets of varied projects with the skills and abilities reflective of professional training.
- Develop complete intermediate level work plans for small projects/sub projects/assignments, including expense/capital estimates and cost/benefit analysis.
- Manage capital equipment projects, Input on Machine design, vendor selection, Equipment design reviews.
- Communicate with vendors to coordinate quotes, prototypes, and production plans.
- Support a production line to achieve business metrics and work with supervisors and production staff to determine improvements
- Work in a team environment to perform problem solving and root cause analysis.
- Lead continuous improvement projects aligned to lean manufacturing principles.
- Able to solve complex problems with practical solutions.
- Work with other functional areas on projects/assignments.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to effectively apply acquired knowledge, skills, and abilities to a variety of assignments within a moderate range of technical difficulty.
- BS Degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Proven understanding of engineering and scientific methodologies and their successful application at an intermediate level of technical application.
- Understands and applies methodologies associated with project planning.
- Equipment Procurement Experience (including automation).
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must regularly lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 150 pounds.
