Willdan Engineering currently has an opening(s) for a  Plan Check Engineer in our City of Industry office.

Description:

Conduct comprehensive plan reviews to ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations across the following disciplines:

• Architectural
• Structural
• Mechanical
• Electrical
• Plumbing
• Fire/Life Safety
• Energy Conservation (Title 24)
• California Green Building Standards (CALGreen)
• Accessibility
• Egress

Verify compliance with:

• California Building Standards Code (CBC)
• Local municipal building ordinances and regulations
• Accepted engineering and construction best practices

Quality Control and Communication:

• Identify inconsistencies or deficiencies in submitted plans and documentation.
• Issue formal plan check comments detailing required corrections or clarifications.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with applicants (developers, architects, and engineers) regarding Code violations, Design conflicts and Revision requirements

Requirements

Requirements for this position include:

• BSCE
• 3 - 5 yrs plan check experience
• Municipal experience
• Professional Registration in California
• ICC Plans Examiner Certification preferred 
• Thorough knowledge of building codes
• Excellent oral & written communication skills.
