- Principal Civil Engineer/Professional Surveyor
Description
NRM is seeking a qualified individual to serve as the managing director of a civil engineering and professional surveying company serving the Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana market areas. The successful candidate will be in charge of our integrations with external partners and manage the business operations in a successful and profitable manner. You will be expected to
confidently manage the engineering and survey crew while, at the same time, setting goals, budgets and timelines for various projects. Other responsibilities will include hiring successful individuals necessary to fulfill project work demands and support the growth of the company and will be expected to conduct the planning, directing, supervising and coordination of engineering and surveying projects. Ultimately, you’ll make sure we maximize our productivity, provide quality and timely work products to our clients, and help our company grow.
Requirements
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Manage day to day business duties including staffing, budgeting, reviewing financial and business reports, and attending partner meetings to report on the status of the business.
- Attend regular staff meetings. Manage and oversee the preparation and administration of contract documents, correspondence with agencies, and client relations for diverse projects including commercial and residential development, industrial mineral mining quarries, wetland mitigation, stream relocation, storm water, wastewater, and environmental projects.
- Lead an engineering and surveying team, providing mentorship to junior staff while strategizing and driving growth for the company.
- Engage in business development efforts by cultivating community relationships to promote continued growth, while ensuring client satisfaction through excellent communication and time- and budget conscious work products.
- Attend various public hearings, local and municipal government meetings in Ohio and Michigan.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and possess a Professional Engineer Registration, preferably in both Ohio and Michigan. Dual registration of PE and PS is not required, but highly
desirable. - Minimum of 5 years of experience as a registered PE in a professional engineering design and project management position. Have a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment and effectively handle tight deadlines and the demands of multiple clients.
- Demonstrate a strong background in the following land development
industries:- Residential & Commercial Development Construction material mining, asphalt, concrete, cement, and
industrial sand mining. - Site planning, grading design, and construction document
preparation. - Coordinate tasks and projects with other partners as well as
staff engineers, surveyors, and planners.
