Summary
As a Senior Engineer in Distribution Capacity Analysis, you will lead high-impact initiatives that shape the future of distribution planning through improved forecasting, identification of grid capacity needs, and influence in regulatory proceedings. This role leverages data analytics to extract actionable insights, automate planning processes, and drive improvements in methodologies and practices. Responsibilities
Oversee engineers performing diagnostics, monitoring, and equipment inspections while fostering cross-functional knowledge sharing.
Lead the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate project status, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the integration and implementation of future technologies and asset performance management strategies.
Support engineering and business initiatives, including the development of innovative procedures and design recommendations.
Provide guidance for new equipment installation and startup, ensuring smooth handover to operational phases.
Mentor junior engineers in assessing risks and investigating issues within distribution system infrastructure.
Gather and analyze data using engineering studies and procedures, including diagnostic testing of components and systems.
Facilitate training and professional development for team members to enhance skills and technical expertise.
Ensure the protection of physical, financial, and cybersecurity assets, while maintaining the highest standards of conduct in handling sensitive information and customer data.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering or a scientific/technical/math field.
Seven or more years of experience performing engineering work in operations, production, construction, or maintenance environments.
Valid Class C Drivers License.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong background in electric system planning, including distribution system analysis and forecasting.
Proficiency in data analytics and automation of planning processes.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and utility system planning standards.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, including external stakeholders.
