R_314878 Senior Leadership Opportunity - Head of Claims, Construction PracticeWe are seeking a talented individual to join our Construction team at Marsh. This role will be based in London. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Are you a seasoned claims professional with a passion for leadership and a deep understanding of the construction sector? Marsh, the market-leading Construction team within Marsh Specialty, is seeking an exceptional individual to join us in a pivotal senior leadership role.
Marsh Specialty's Construction and Surety Practice is the largest specialty broker in the London market, renowned for servicing the full spectrum of the construction, engineering, and infrastructure sectors. Our prestigious client portfolio includes global Tier 1 contractors, developers, project owners, and infrastructure investment funds seeking to expand and optimise their operational assets.
With a team of 175 dedicated professionals across five UK locations, we deliver comprehensive insurance and risk management solutions tailored to our clients' complex needs.
We will count on you to:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Claims Advocates across multiple locations (London being main location).
- Provide expert claims advice to support to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Manage complex, high-value claims with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
- Collaborate with Client Executives to retain and grow client relationships through exceptional claims service.
- Strategic input and collaboration to all matters relating to the growth and leadership of the broader Construction division.
- Member of the Construction Executive team.
- Represent the UK Construction Practice on Marsh Specialty claims committees, influencing claims strategy and best practices across our broader business.
What you need to have:
- Leadership experience with a strategic mindset and the ability to inspire and develop teams.
- Expertise in managing complex construction claims scenarios.
- Knowledge of construction insurance products, including property, engineering, casualty, and professional indemnity.
- Established relationships with major market insurers and a strong understanding of their offerings.
- Legal background with construction insurance and/or construction related claims.

- Experience at a law firm and as a solicitor dealing with insurance claims.
- Understanding and knowledge of P&L management and budgetary control
- Excellent negotiation skills and ability to develop claim strategies
