This is a leadership role for a hands-on engineer. You will be the technical authority for mechanical systems, leading the design and implementation of cutting-edge solutions. Your work will directly impact the performance and reliability of our customer's next-generation hardware.
Detailed Description
As our Senior Staff Engineer, you will lead the charge on challenging mechanical design projects. Your key responsibilities include:
- Lead Technical Design: Serve as the technical expert for mechanical systems, creating system solutions and technical drawings using 3D modeling and simulation software.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME): Provide technical direction and guidance to a global team of engineers. Your expertise will be essential in analyzing complex system tradeoffs and recommending innovative solutions.
- Drive Project Execution: Take responsibility for the technical and non-technical elements of a project, including planning, scheduling, and managing relationships with key vendors, partners, and customers.
- Validate and Qualify Systems: Complete calculations, test, validate, and qualify systems, and provide support throughout the entire manufacturing process.
- Customer Engagement: Act as a primary technical contact for customers, interpreting their requirements and presenting technical proposals and solutions.
Requirements
Knowledge & Skills We're Looking For
- Deep Technical Expertise: You are a Subject Matter Expert in mechanical design with in-depth knowledge of 3D modeling, simulation software, and DFx (Design for Excellence) principles.
- Hands-on Skills: You have experience with schematic capture and CAD layout tools. You have hands-on experience with PCB stack-up, power planes, and simulating voltage gradients.
- Leadership & Communication: You can provide technical leadership to a team of engineers and effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders. You are able to present complex technical information to various audiences.
- Experience: 11-14 years of related experience.
Physical Demands
- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
- Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
- Occasional travel may be required.
Typical Experience
- 11 to 14 years of related experience; Experience in similar job roles
Typical Education
- Bachelor degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience

Salary
- $150,000 - 214,000 USD/year
