You're ready to gain the skills and experience needed to grow within your role and advance your career - and we have the perfect software engineering opportunity for you.As a Software Engineer II - Solutions Delivery at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank - Payment Engineering and Architecture Solutions Delivery team, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm's state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.
Job responsibilities
- Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches
- Write secure and high-quality code using at least one programming language with limited guidance
- Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Facilitate evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
- Facilitate communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
- Address non-functional requirements to ensure stability, security and scalability of the API infrastructure
- Actively participate in a highly energy global agile team
- Gather, analyze, and draw conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application development
- Learn and apply system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems
- Contribute to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Familiarity with container and container orchestration such as Kubernetes, ECS and Docker
- Strong experience with Terraform and automation tooling and scripting knowledge (Bash/YAML), git-based workflows
- Proficient in coding in one or more languages i.e. Java, JavaScript, or Python
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Strong understanding of OpenAPI Specification (OAS) for RESTful API's
- Practical AWS Cloud native experience

- AWS Skills: EKS, ECS, MSK
- Databases: ClickHouse, Aurora, DynamoDB
- Troubleshooting common networking issues
- Java & Spring Boot
- Performance and stress testing
